In 1978, whilst still in architectural practice, David held an exhibition of his work in Worcester City Art Gallery which was successful enough to encourage him to consider painting full-time. In July 2025, in gratitude for this encouragement, he donated twenty watercolour drawings, one screenprint and two small etchings to the gallery’s permanent collection. These represent how David’s work has developed since 1978, and it is hoped that there may be the opportunity to exhibit them and other works in the newly refurbished City Gallery in the near future.
